La Custom 24 es la guitarra PRS por excelencia, el instrumento icónico que inició todo en 1985. La Custom 24-08 mantiene muchas de las especificaciones fundamentales de la Custom original (tapa de arce, fondo y mástil de caoba, 24 trastes, escala de 25", trémolo Gen III patentado por PRS y afinadores Phase III con botones de ala), pero agrega un nuevo nivel de versatilidad con sus pastillas TCI e interruptores EQ Mini-toggle.

Las pastillas TCI están diseñadas para ofrecer un sonido pleno y musical que recuerda a los tonos de las pastillas single-coil y soapbar. Los miniinterruptores de ecualización duales actúan como filtros paso alto sintonizados cuando están activados (en la posición superior), eliminando los graves desnivelados y permitiendo el paso de las frecuencias agudas para una mayor claridad y agudos musicales.

Los interruptores de ecualización se desarrollaron y se incorporaron por primera vez en el modelo Private Stock John McLaughlin en 2023. Tanto John como yo consideramos que ofrecían un sonido diferente, pero igual de versátil, que influyó significativamente en la musicalidad de esa guitarra.
